I think Ward did take the weight that best benefited him, have I stated different?? I also said that the weight played a factor in Dawson destruction. So what is your point exactly??Originally posted by SoggyLungsit's different. so you think that it's okay that ward went with a weight that best benefited him rather than accepting something that would have benefited both of them? i think ward is at fault for not being open to accepting dawson's catchweight offer...especially considering that ward may move up to lhw soon or at least seems open to the idea of moving up to lhw soon, but wasn't open to the idea of accepting dawson's cw.Comment

Ward has beaten better fighter then Floyd? You mean to tell me that you think Froch,Bika and Green,Zombie Dawson and Kessler is better then Marquez,Ortiz and Cotto?Damn so this is what your 1st troll tread looks like ey homey??
Fact #1 Ward didn't ask to fight Dawson, nor did he demand Dawson to fight at 168.
Fact #2 Pacman demanded Cotto at a catchweight, Margarito & Marquez. Not exactly the same if you catch my drift.
Fact #3 Floyd actually owned a 154lb title before he fought Cotto.
It is also as close to a fact as it can be that over the last 2 years Ward has beaten beater fighters than both Floyd & Pacman.
Froch lost to Kessler and dirrel in the Super six but got a gift in the dirrel fight and Froch struggled against a old weight drained Glen Johnson,Bika is bum,Green is a bum and the only top fighter Kessler beat is Froch and a lot of people thought Froch won.
Marquez is a future hall of famer whose a 4 division titlest who has a far better resume then Froch Kessler and green combined.Ortiz beat Berto and drew with lamont Peterson,And Cotto is a 3 division champ with wins over Mosley,Clottey,Torres. And Cotto only lost without the opponent cheating was against Floyd.Comment

Mate this was just class. Just don't go expecting people here to listen to reason, logic or common sense. So every time I read around here I see nothing but fanboys talking **** about Pacquiao "draining" his opponents by a couple of lbs, always trying to discredit the guy. But then I turn around and see the same people put Ward #1 P4P over Floyd and Martinez. How does that work? Ward just drained his opponent by 7 freaking lbs. If he wanted to earn that #1 spot he should've challenged himself and gone up to 175. I mean, Floyd just did it. He went to Cotto's weight and beat him. And what has Ward done that Martinez hasn't? He's been KO'ing all his opponents in the process too. He probably would've KO'ed Chavez too if his damn hand hadnt broken and Chavez wasn't so damn huge.
I can't believe Im in here defending Floyd
. And just for the record I could care less where you have Pacquiao on your P4P list. But dont come in here saying Ward deserves to be above Floyd AND Martinez. To top it all off, he fights Dawson at 168 and 2 months later he's talking about going to 175. Wtf is that?
PS Oh then we have a moron around here talking about how Martinez was on his bike all night vs Chavez yet he is just fine with Ward's lame ass clinching and headbutting. I think we all know who Im talking about. Just wanted to give him a shoutout.

You know thats not what I said. I meant to say that when you have a scenario like Floyd/Ward who are being considered as the #1 P4P candidates I look at accomplishments as a "tie breaker."Originally posted by BushbabyQuote:

So you look at an entire career/resume to build your current pfp list?? What does what Floyd did at 130-135 have to do with pfp 2012 considering Ward has clearly beaten better fighters in the last 2 years & Floyd is showing age & has been very careful with his choice of opponent??
@Dominicano Soy
You can say Martinez been dominating his opponents as well in his own way. He's coming off a KO streak until he fought Chavez. And like I said there wouldve been a good possibility that he wouldve KO'ed/TKO'ed Chavez if he didnt have such a huge size disadvantage or a broken hand.

bro, you've been here for six months.. it's been this way. it's always been this way.
you should have seen it during the heyday of mayweather and pacquiao. it was bedlam. i posted exclusively in the history section for a year because of it. it's actually gotten better than it was.
people have biases. they also appear to get more out of hating boxers than appreciating them.Comment

Lol yea I haven't been here this long but it looks like the whole Floyd/Pacquiao feud is getting a little ridiculous too. Anway, I just had to get this out of my chest. I was stuck at work and bored. We all have our biases and I think its human nature but sometimes you gotta take off your blind folds at least once. I dislike Floyd as much as the next guy but Im not gonna sit here and say Ward should be above him. Im pretty sure Ward is the next P4P king unless Martinez goes down to 154 and wrecks ****. But it's not his time yet.Originally posted by New Englandbro, you've been here for six months.. it's been this way. it's always been this way.

You see even bigger double standards when it comes to $$$$$. To Floyd fans, only Floyd can make that money. Arum, Pac and others that do something they don't like, they're labeled as greedy. Floyd has stated numerous times he only fights for money and not for the fans, that to me is the mother of all greedy fucks in boxing.Comment
