But they would be ducking him. Martinez at 154 would be the best available opponent for either Floyd or Cotto. They should fight him.Comment

Can someone tell me why it is ok for Martinez to duck 168 by saying guys are too big and too good, while Manny says the same thing about JMW and he gets **** on for it? I don't care which side of the argument you're on but my God be ****ing consistent and not hypocritical. I like Sergio but these comments piss me the **** off, and make me not like him whether it's him or his trainer its from his camp. Move to 168 if you have the skills then size won't mean ****, even if you lose to Ward give it a shot he is already admitting defeat. We aren't talking a jump from MW to HW for God sake.Comment

On top of the weight he allegedly tore some shyt in his knee and broke a hand.
Ive been on this site long enough to know what happens if he moves down and gets KTFO by Cotto, Canelo or Floyd. Because imo at 154 all 3 are the likely result if hes not healthy.
Dawson shouldve did the same thing....
Even Oscar said hell let me fight Forbes at 150 atleast. And when Forbes busted his ass up he shouldve known then to back off.
But money talks as Martinez will likely find out.Last edited by B.U.R.N.E.R; 09-21-2012, 05:20 PM.Comment

Top Rank's whole fallout with HBO last year was over them trying to force Cotto-Martinez. No one on Cotto's side wants it, and that's fine. Cotto is at a point in his career where he should pick and choose.
Otherwise he'll find himself getting pimped the way many fighters are at the end of their careers.Comment

No, fans are just being illogical in wanting a fighter to move up when there is quadruple the money to be made by moving down.
A fight with would would do nothing for him. It would be in Oakland, for starters, on regular HBO, for like $500kComment
