Sergio Martinez Will Fight Mayweather at 150, 80-20 Split, Says DiBella
Promoter Lou DiBella is offering about as much as he can really offer to get Floyd Mayweather Jr into a ring with his fighter, reigning middleweight champion Sergio Martinez. According to BoxingScene.com, DiBella is serious about both the weight and split offer, both of which heavily favor Mayweather:
"Floyd would be favored at 150. Cotto is a dead man at 154. Cotto is a half-shot. He's a great fighter, but he gets hit by everything. He incented Cotto to make a big money fight. It's very smart business. If he wants to handicap Sergio, we'll fight him as low as 150. And we'll give him 80% of the money
Martinez is shook. He doesn't want to fight Chavez unless he has the officials in his back pocket, like he did on Saturday night. The man is a disgrace to the title he stole from Chavez.
You have to be kidding me right? I was standing up for you Mushahedeen or whatever your other name is. He lost EVERY single round except for the 12th. He dropped Sergio and couldn't finish him off. How did Sergio have the officials in his back pocket on Saturday? Oh that's right because the CROOCKED ass Sulaiman and WBC didn't have a say on who they were haha. Besides if anyone is a disgrace to the belt it's Junior for not facing his mandatory for 3 years. Everyone was right. GO BACK TO YOUR CAVE TROLL!!!!
While i would favor martinez to win, lettuce not underrate cottos boxing skills...again. Especially working behind his jab, hed have success and it would be a competitive fight. Imo, in some ways martinez is more dangerous than pacquiao, and in some ways hes less dangerous. For instance i believe pacquiao to be a more dynamic puncher.
If you want to hurt cotto, uppercuts and sweeping rights(possibly lefts too), and an effective power attack to the body are the ticket. These put cotto in danger, especially in the form of volume punching. Martinez isnt particularily great at any of these, those he does punch hard....miguel also has a good defense for martinez' preferred attack.

World middleweight champion Sergio Martinez believes his most realistic chance of winning recognition as the world's best boxer lies in a bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The 36-year-old Argentine (48-2-2), named 2010 Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America, said that Manny Pacquiao was reluctant to take him on.
He accused the Filipino of making unrealistic weight demands and said he was targeting the undefeated Mayweather instead.
Pain in Spain: Argentina's Sergio Martinez has been training in Madrid
Welterweight Pacquiao (54-3-2) currently tops the list of the best pound-for-pound boxers compiled by 'The Ring' magazine ahead of Mayweather (42-0-0), also a welterweight, in second place with Martinez third.
'It's a disgrace what they (Pacquiao's camp) are asking,' Martinez, a former cyclist and soccer player who came late to boxing, said in Madrid after a training session at a local gym.
'It would be better if they just said they didn't want to fight me, because they know I'll knock him out.'
Martinez, who sports an elaborate dragon tattoo on his left bicep, said Pacquaio's people had told him he would have to agree to slim down to 147 pounds (66.7 kilos) and limit his weight to 150 pounds for the actual bout.
Glove affair: Martinez says Manny Pacquiao's people are being unreasonable
'We are working on a long-term plan to stabilise my weight at 154 pounds in case a fight with Mayweather can be organised,' Martinez said. 'To be considered the best pound for pound I just need this little push, a great fight with one of the two.
'I feel as if I have achieved nothing yet in boxing. Nothing. If I quit tomorrow people would forget about me. I would even forget about myself.'
Martinez may have a tough time making a match with either of the big two, at least until they have met each other in the fight eagerly awaited by boxing fans.
Pacquiao has never fought above 150 pounds and is under no pressure to accept a meeting with the Argentine, while Mayweather treasures his unbeaten record and may be loath to take on a dangerous bout before cashing in with a lucrative clash with Pacquia

I love Cotto and Serg, but at this point of Cotto's career he can't take hard hits anymore. Specially with a volume puncher like Maravilla. He has every advantage over Cotto. Cotto vs Canelo would be a great matchup but Maravilla beats everyone below 160 right now. Props to Cotto for having the heart that most fighters don't.
