Maybe he did get hurt by those fighters, but they are all top contenders at middleweight. Doesn't that define what a true champion is? A real champion fight top notch guys and no matter if they get hurt, or outboxed, they still find a way to win. There is no more questions to be asked of this champion. Whoever they put in front of him, he finds a way to beat them. Cotto would definitely be a real test for him. Why? Because Cotto is also a true champion. I just give the edge to Sergio. I just respect a guy who can get up from a knockdown and make the proper adjustments to win. He has crazy heart and is mentally tough and wants to fight the best. And if He and Cotto ever fight, both of their faces would be disfigured.

I think Cotto makes it a competitive boxing match. I don't think Cotto would pressure relentlessly and I see Sergio doing his usual thing, which is to pick his spots and use his movement.
I just can't see why some around here keep insisting that Cotto will get murdered in this fight when Cotto has never been knocked out cold. I can see Martínez winning a decision because he's a gifted boxer, but I could also envision Cotto getting a close nod. Maybe polls about this fight should be posted a few months from now, after Cotto has faced Trout and some posters are not so high on Sergio.Comment

That's not the point. I am not saying it's impossible that Martínez stops him because I know it could happen. I just don't find much logic in some replies that state that Cotto will get completely dominated and killed in a couple of rounds. When talking about a fighter like Cotto, who has faced the very best and has world class skills, you have to give the benefit of the doubt. Besides, this fight could take place at 154 meaning that Cotto might not be too far out of his element.Comment

This is the kind of fight where the tempo won't affect the outcome. Sergio could beat him from the outside, or he could increase the tempo and really try to hurt Cotto.Comment
