I dont even think Chavez has a good chin. When he is forced to move to 168 soon i guarantee somebody knocks him out.

Some of the comments and viewpoints on this fight really amaze me. I give respect to Jr. because he showed heart, will and a tough chin. However, he was thoroughly brutalized and dominated for 11.5 out of 12 rds. He landed a lucky hail mary left hook in the 12th and with Sergio gassing at that point, he was able to put him down and hurt him. Sergio got up and fought him back like a champion. I mean a rematch is fine but people need to understand Sergio is really a JMW and he was in there with a Cruiserweight sized fighter. Jr. was beaten like a stepchild for all but 1 minute of the fight. Jr. stays at 160 because he knows he can't make it his real weight class of 168-175.

anyone - even the slowest motherfacker in the MW division - can floor sergio martinez. of course jr isn't a legend, but that CLEARLY facking indicates sergio is NOT a p4p great. If you try argue otherwise, you're just being an ignorant nuthugger = I suggest you wake up and realise sergio has no hope whatsoever against Ward or Mayweather.

Imagine if Floyd was dropped on his azz by such a slow opponent.. The world would be like "holy shet floyd's so overrated". But when it happens to a real overrated and weak chinned fighter like amir kahn and martinez, people make excuses like it was a lucky shot or they made a mistake etc...

Cotto - a much better fighter than JCC Jr - would easily dominate Sergio if he tried dropping to LMW. If sergio tries to go up; he'd get KTFO by SOG.

You see, these facts obviously contradict the statement that sergio is p4p top 5 material.

For the nuthuggers: laugh it off all you want, it still won't make your dancing idol a legit p4p legend.

that was a more than a knockdown that was damn near a knockout! a flash knockdown it wasnt ,Chavez wasnt able to finish him after losing most of the fight, but it 100% proves Chavez can hurt and stop this guy.Martinez couldnt even wobble Chavez jr, sure he needs to improve sure ,sure he's green but chavez fans can be proud, sometimes a loss is necessary, martinez isnt getting younger or better ,chavez is still getting better chavez essentially took a big ass shiat on martinez dominant performance, theres no way to look good after that,if it were an early flash knockdown okay fine, but thats certainly not how it unfolded.
If i were martinez id be soo embarrassed and I can say with certainty i wouldnt be celabrating if i were him not after that near knockout, because people are going to remember this fight for exactley that and not martinez.

great points very true I disagree that cotto would beat any top guy like martinez jcc jr or even canelo,But I must say he did a tremendous job against mayweather, people will hate me for saying it but mayweather went life and death with cotto and i truly beleive it was because mayweather sux against southpaws or even left -hands ,cotto is a converted southpaw and mayweather style is all wrong for that,I beleve floyd would be stopped by a top southpaw thats why he will never fight manny or martinez, the evidence is just too clear and theres many fights to point to that backs this up on top of that floyd lost gobs of speed and his legs are just gone

thats a gross exaggeration martinez didnt win no 11 1/2 rounds either, chavez did get in many solid shots in that fight, its true martinez dominated, but to say chavez was just dominated like people are saying isnt true martinez ate plenty of solid shots and chavez was far more accurate, yes chavez was badly out connected and out thrown ,but it was martinez whom had a cut eye damn near got knocked out and suffered broken bones and shiat,to me thats pretty embarrassing especially if chavez were truly a bum, what would that even make martinez to be one punch away from being brutally koed???and no martinez didnt fight like a champion in the last round he barley made it out alive by just sheer luck he didnt have his legs and was badly badly hurt,it was embarrassing and humbling for martinez in a victory
