How did he dig deep? He was atleast 20 lbs heavier and bestowed with a portion of his fathers legendary chin. Jr stalked and stalked for 12 rounds and had nothing to show for it. Epic fail.

I'm really surprised at the level of respect Chavez is being given after being schooled for eleven then finally landing and badly hurting Martinez. It was a great end, but not something worthy of making him a legend.

He isn't on Martinez's level. I can't believe he actually thinks that after being discouraged after like four rounds.

        So yes,super cereal.
NOT, Maybe if he got the ko. Other then that it was just a late knock down. Hardly one of the most epic things in boxing history. Maybe in the history of this week.

So dropping arguably the best P4p fighter in boxing twice, even if they called the second knock down a slip, And almost finished him is nothing in your eyes. Chavez jr. will learn from this fight and in the second he will go in with more confidence, remember Martinez is 37 and will need to recover from a very serious injury. If they do have a rematch Martinez will not be the same fighter from the first fight. The injuries will get to him.

Sergio sure did have to. he got up and fought back hard.

Oh you mean the guy who plodded around for 11 and landed a nice shot and couldn't finish?

Nah. Not gonna give him much credit. A fight is 12 rounds.

If all you needed was one round at the end to get credit Rocky Juarez would be an ATG.

He deserves respect for finishing strong and almost stopping Martinez, but I can't have much respect for a dude who fights guys who are 25 lbs smaller than him. And It's not a one time thing like Canelo/Lopez or Mayweathe/Marquez, Chavez Jr uses all kinds of techniques and products to make weight and compete against much smaller guys on a consistent basis. This is dishonorable.

Yes; the kid does deserve a rematch for what he did in the last round; if they would have waved the fight off or counted Martinez out; people would be in an uproar.

I think the outcome would be the same though unless Chavez Jr. traps Martinez early; the kid doesn't have boxing skill though, he's got heart and he's a hard puncher but he has alot to learn about the total package boxer.

                  Chavez will get better

Chavez will learn from this. Bruise heal quickly but Martinez isn't getting any better just older and slower. REMATCH
