Comments Thread For: Martinez's Adviser: Chavez Jr. is Now His Own Legend

Last night, inside of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Argentina’s Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martinez pulled out a tremendous win over a game but outmatched Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to reclaim the WBC middleweight crown that was stripped from him in early 2011.

i think they're afraid of chavez jr's cartel friends. they're giving this fucking bum too much respect.

somebody threw the argentina flag at chavez jr during the interview and sergio looked like he got scared. it was probably martinez's fat bro who did it.

I totally agree! He is a legend alright:

          leg·end (ljnd)
          n.
          1.
          a. An unverified story handed down from earlier times, especially one popularly believed to be historical.
          b. A body or collection of such stories.
          c. A romanticized or popularized myth of modern times

Ok, so he came forward for 12 rounds even though he was abused for 11.5 of those. How is that different from any other mexican fighter? Mexicans are warriors in the ring and that has been well established, that will make him part of the bunch!

Getting beat up and dominated for 11rds to finally catch a break by knocking down your smaller opponent but not able to finish him even though the guy was a lil dazed, hurt and not clinching don't make you a legend. Martinez's adviser just wants to capitalize on a rematch and make some money. Rematch Martinez gets Chavez Jr out of there.
