Pride, lmao. Martinez didn't change his game in the 12th. He got caught.
Maybe? But I saw martinez stand with chavez too much when he should have antisipated a chavez charge in that last round. Could have led to his down fall. But it added up to a very good fight so im happy
Not immediately. Martinez sounds like he'll be out for awhile recovering from his injuries anyway. Chavez Jr. should just move up. He'll lose his only advantage, but he won't kill himself anymore in camp.

The knock down was nothing because Junior really did hurt Sergio. That is by hitting him so many times in his fist with his face that he broke Sergio's hand.
my knee jerk reaction was "**** that overpriveleged punk (Chavez Jr), he doesn't deserve a rematch". But after some thought, I say hell yes! Martinez, go get yourself a huge payday for another easy win. Martinez is 37 and why would he want to fight a guy that is 10x as skilled as Chavez Jr. (GGG) for less than half as much $$$ as he can make for a rematch.
People are funny Martinez doesnt fight for pride or anything he fights for the money he is old and he wants those big paychecks. Martinez wants a rematch as bad as chavez jr does.
A rematch with Chavez jr will bring him another career high payday, no one else will except Mayweather and he aint gonna get a Mayweather fight.
Chavez is the only one who can bring him that huge money, Martinez is old and at the possibly at the last quater of his career.
First: Another boxing clinic from Martínez for most of the fight, but this time Maravilla won't get overconfident and would easily beat Jr
Second: Jr throwing punches like a madman since round 1 and getting KOd a la Williams. You just can't throw many punches when Martínez is so fast and powerful.
Jr was in a shell not because he felt "tied up", but because he felt Martínez power and realized that if he started opening up he was going to get seriously hurt.
Exactly. Jr is too big to be knocked down by most middleweights yet he got backed up by Martinez on several occasions. Jr doesn't really have great power either for his natural size, he's just really big for the division & has a larger mans power.
His career will be short when he finally hits the super middleweight division &/or beyond.
Martinez, who really is small to average size for a middleweight, being a real champion, always comes back strongly after being knocked down. Jr couldn't finish him, even with several flush punches. In a hypothetical rematch, if Jr tries to unload early, he will likely have an early night...Kelly Pavlik style.
In spite of the talk pre fight, I felt, & it was backed up by how the fight unfolded, that Martinez was quite happy to move & wasn't looking for an outright kayo...
I'd be ok with a rematch. But I also wouldn't mind seeing a Canelo vs. Martinez fight first if that was possible. Yes, Sergio got dropped in the 12th because of his willingness to stand and **** with JCC, which imo was ******, but props to the guy for trying. I don't understand how some people are acting as if JCC was on his way to winning that fight. Yes he hurt him, yes he dropped him, but he also got beat in the 11 rounds before. I'm sure that in a rematch, JCC would try to start faster earlier, but I still don't see how that'll help him. Having felt his power I'm sure Sergio wouldn't be as willing to sit infront of him and try to outpunch JCC. More likely it'd be another Boxing clinic from Sergio.
