Argentine fighter Sergio Martinez has reclaimed the WBC middleweight title stripped from him two years ago.

Sergio Martinez survived a late knockdown to reclaim the World Boxing Council's middleweight belt on Saturday when he defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by a unanimous points decision.

Martinez, 37, dominated and was leading comfortably on the judges' scorecards when he got into trouble in the 12th and final round, and the Argentine had to survive a late onslaught by Chavez as they went toe-to-toe.

As somebody who was rooting for Martinez, I'm surprised so many people are dismissing the idea of a rematch. Martinez was nearly knocked out, if Chavez Jr lets his hands go early in a rematch things could be interesting. If he opens up more, BOTH guys could get knocked out so why wouldn't you wanna see it?

At the beginning of the fight, I predicted that Chavez would catch up to Martinez. He did, but he couldn't finish him. Props to Martinez. Props to Chavez Jr also. Jr started doing damage around round 10. I told my boys that Jr should've started around 8 or 9.
