When you sign a contract and weight is stipulated thats it!!! If you come in weak your the idiot who signed the rules. Why should your opponent be responsible for your ******ity!!! Theres been contract weights forever they simply were noted as (+2 or +4 whatever/147 + 3=150lbs) No big deal.
They weren't title fights because of the stipulations, champions in the past did that alot in non-title fights to get a 10 rounder in as part of the prep for a 15 round title fight! It was a great opportunity for a man to get a shot at a champ and if they did well their stock could rise dramaticly!!
Theres been "junior" classes in and out of boxing forever, I hate them! To many divisions just adds to the mediocrity in the sport already! I don't mind the Cruiser division but a 168lbs is BS your a 160 middle or a LtHvy 175 and you have 15lbs to play with. Being drained is a legitament reason for not being able to perform but its the fighters fault for signing the ageement!! Ray.

The most bogus criticisms of the whole CW thing are when it comes to the DLH fight. I hear constantly how Pac drained Oscar - but have people really forgotten that DLH cherrypicked Pac and made him move up essentially 3 weight divisions?(he had only one fight at LW at that point).

If that revisionism isn't bad enough, then they outright lie about rehydration clauses that Pac supposedly had against Cotto, DLH, and Hatton.

First thing - if Ricky was subject to a rehydration clause, we'd have heard it from Ricky right after he'd woken up from the canvas.

Secondly, from what I remember, all his talk about hydration clauses was propagated by the Mayweather family - you know, the same family who accused Pac on being on some mystical 500 year old war drug

I'm confused, because some of the same people who're saying weight had nothing to do with Ward's victory are the same ones who say Pacquiao only won certain fights because he drained people.
It was only like a week or two ago the boards were filled with Pacquiao and his draining tactics.
The difference is in who people root for. I didn't like the Cotto catch but it didn't look like it affected outcome. Same last night.

So, Dawson's shitty punch resistance came from where? Was he slipped some black pills to while his team told him it was vitamins? How about those 100-200 punches he threw? I guess he was definitely high on some black pills.

Solid post and entirely true. The funniest part is Manny dictating terms to Oscar freakin De La Hoya. Well, not really. Its funny though. The funniest part is believing the Mayweathers.

How about DLH, did it affect the outcome vs Pac? Or is Dawson just a feebler version of Allan Green?

When did he ever have a great chin? Eric Harding dropped him with a stiff jab. He got caught a blind, perfect hook last night and then kept getting pummeled. It was a testament that he took his beating as long as he did. Not as young as he was when Johnson kept sending him reeling and he's never been as willing since then either.

Pac took a sucker bet with Oscar. It's not like he had leverage there. DLH thought he was taking big money for an easy little guy. Bad thinking.

Ward had no KDs in any super 6 fight, nor Miranda. Dawson is no Froch, but he's not chinnier than Green or Miranda, with less heart and recovery ability.
