Easy. Ward was the champion and his belts were on the line. If you want to take a man's belt, fight him at his weight.
Cotto was the champion. Should have fought him at 147.
The Margarito fight was for a belt at 154. Fight should have taken place at 154.
De La Hoya/Pac was not a championship fight.Comment

I was speaking for myself. I could careless if Pac-Cotto II was at 154, 150, or 147. Obviously if it was at 154, it'd be a more legit fight. That fight was crap because it would have been a pointless rematch, just like the Barrera rematch.
Ward-Dawson was a good win for Ward, a big win, and a great performance. It would have been greater had he gone up in weight though. That's a fact.
I was speaing more for myself, I don't think Cotto was drained at all. I don't think Dawson was totally drained, and we should take into account that he was like 186 lbs on fight night, but it may have had something to do with his punch resistance. But as far as speed and everything, he looked the same. Still, I wanted Ward to go up in weight.Comment

I saw this being brought up a few days ago. Someone got into it with Bushbaby. He supports Ward but somehow bashes Pacquiao for draining his opponents. And it's not just Bushbaby, there's PLENTY of people around here who do the same. It's mostly Floyd fans who are also fans of Ward.Comment

This is about draining not belts. Belts or not the MAIN point stands.Easy. Ward was the champion and his belts were on the line. If you want to take a man's belt, fight him at his weight.

Are people that ****** that they don't understand the weight limit does not mean all fights 100% must be fought at that weight in that weight class.
Here's a quick breakdown:
Welterweight = 140+ lbs until exactly 147 lbs
Super welter/lt middle = 147+lbs until exactly 154 lbs
What does that mean?
If you're between 140 and 147 you're a welterweight regardless if you weight 141 or 147. Same goes for all weight except heavyweight which is 200+lbs and up.

I was going to reply to you, but then just wrote something in general about what was happening a week or two ago.
Not trying to single you out or anything, I get what you're saying thoughComment
