Froch isn't going to knock him out, so he'd likely get outworked. A loss to a fighter pretty much unknown in America right now knocks a hell of a lot of luster off the Froch name.
Cleverly's a nobody, with practically no defense or power. His fool hardy, macho approach, would only serve to play right into Froch's hands. Those who stand and trade with Froch, invariably come off second best.

According to Warren the thought of facing Cleverly has all the Worlds best fighters running, and we all know what a credible source he is. LOL!

Lmao no one is ducking Cleverly Ward would toy and embarrass him. He's been matched up well currently and im failing to see anything near punchers like Cloud or Pascal or elite level skill competition like Ward or Dawson on his record.

We give Hopkins a pass because he is 50 years old and deserves to pick and choose, he went into a prime Pascal's hometown twice so he's no coward.

I think a key difference is that Froch and his team actually wanted to fight Calzaghe. Not sure how Cleverley himself feels but Warren's track record suggests that he doesn't really want to make the fight and is just acting this way to try and excuse NC's standard of opposition.

Cleverly is a big LHW and is technicallys more adept than Froch. Froch would not be able to manhandle him in the way he did with taylor and bute.

Cleverly’s size and skill would see im win this fght ad he could mix it with froch if he wanted to as well. The only thing froch can do is trade and brawl and if he does that with a bigger fighter like clev then he hits the deck.

Froch-Cleverly would have been far better than Yusaf Mack. Froch could have become a 2 weight champion with a win over a Top LHW.
