Felix Sturm, whats up with this guy?

This guy has been winning titles since 2003,and went through the Hopkins,Taylor,Pavlik and now the Martinez era of lineal champions........AND HAS NOT EVEN FOUGHT 1.........What the hell???he has NEVER EVER TRIED TO UNIFY A BELT...he is a 3 time Mw titlist and has done NOTHING with the belts NOTHING..How does this happen? He is far from a bad fighter, had a great jab and a nice skill set.I watched the Mackin fight yesterday and it was a damn good fight.I understand he felt he was robbed by Oscar but hell he aint the only one move on man

he's a domestic german. the guy makes bank fighting against chumps over seas, where he is a star. he;s had a modeling gig for big german clothing companies for a long time now. he's just not that good at boxing.

        I think he's a good fighter.

Nothing special but he's a good fighter.

His competition isn't great, but I've seen much worse.

Yet another example of how meaningless "Title defenses" can be.

On top of everything mentioned in the thread already, he then goes out and blasts Abraham for his losses to the BEST in the world at 168, when Sturm himself wouldn't even dare to fight outside of Germany let alone against a guy who is a legit threat.

He is a joke and a big part of what is wrong with the sport. A guy who is just about the $$.

I do give him credit for his last 2 and his next fight though. But still, it took him long enough.

perhaps i should clarify. he can fight. he's not a pushover when he's fighting largely european level comp.

he's obvious better than some kid at the PAL gym.

but if he were some world beater they'd send him out there. they dont because he's not that good. he's not world beater good.

he's got a jab that looks like he's been throwing it since he was about six years old. otherwise he's not a special fighter.

they can make special fighter money in germany, so they keep him there. the guy is rich. he's not making huge money each time he fights, but he's fighting such relatively poor comp for a champ that he can do it for years without deteriorating greatly or taking tons of risk.

I think he is a good inside fighter, goes to the body well and has a nice uppercut to boot,he has speed, balance, and needs to test himself.good to see he is FINALLY trying to unify but lets see if he wins and what he does next
