I get it, a guy who "considers" himself Rican is more Rican than a guy with 2 Rican parents.
If u r Black? Ur American or African ? If u r white u r American or ermmm from England?? Perhaps!!???
Dude was not born in puerto Rico and has none "puertorican" parent....
But has lived here and has embraced the puertoricans culture...
Let's just call him the "dominican/st martin alien/refugee not puertorican at all" that fights with the puertorican flag in his trunks if that's makes you feel better!!
Cotto(born in the U.S.) mom and dad Rican, Danny(born in the U.S.) mom and dad Rican, Dulorme mom and dad not Rican and he wasn't even born in Puerto Rico. That makes Cotto and Danny more Rican than Durlome will ever be.
Danny being Rican and the #1 guy at 140 makes him "the best current Puerto Rican fighter outside of Cotto".
You dont get it. I was born in NY and like many others I was raised here in PR. Both of my parents are rican and I feel 100% rican. PR is what I know all my life and embrace it every single day. I have nephews and nieces that were born in NY and raised there. There parents are rican, their grandparents too. However, they can carry a flag the same way Danny Garcia does but they dont know the culture or idiosyncrasy of us. They were raised knowing more about a US than PR. Then you have here in PR, plenty of dominicans with both parents being dominicans and some of them being born in DR, but they feel rican and they embrace our culture (very similar) and they feel rican. Guys like Dulorme and one recent olympic medalist that call PR home feel that. They know more about PR than any of the ricans that are born and raised in the states.
Now, try and tell them that they are not rican and deny them that pride. Go ahead and try.

When Durlome loses, don't come on here and disown him.

Not in my eyes. The same way I see my nephews and nieces, they dont know ish about PR, they are sons of ricans. And probably they feel more proud to be Americans.

I'm a boxing fan, not a fanatic... When he does loses....cos eventually he will.... It's gonna be all his fault and his team not mine ....
The question is...who's the best outside Cotto.. "active" Calderon but he's downhill so looking to uprising fighters from PR stable are dulorme & orlandito del Valle

That's weird, I thought Ricans are automatically born Americans.
