Cotto was born in PR and lived there most of his life. Garcia was born and raised in the US, how does that make him more puerto rican than Dulorme?

It says on his wikipedia page that he was born in Caguas but I've seen interviews with him where he said he was born in Rhode Island. Google it and I'm sure you'll find some stuff on it. He moved back to PR as a young child.

cotto was born in new england. little rhode island, actually

he was raised from a very small child in caguas, though, and in my eyes that makes him a puerto rican.

his english is terrific now, but he didnt speak it as a child and had to learn as a part of his boxing career and his marketing as a crossover star in NY (where many of the second gen PR dont speak fluent spanish.)

            all true

he was a very young child when he lived here. I'm gonna be a few miles from rhode island today! it's a tiny little state.

There is a big difference between Miranda and Dulorme. Dulorme have live most of his life in PR. Miranda carries the flag in the trunks being grateful to PR because he was treated and felt good at home. Dulorme carries the flag because he feels he is rican. He calls Carolina, PR his home.

We have discussed this issue here plenty of time. For some ricans he was rican when he won the title, but who has follow him? No one in PR knew about him because the dude has not link himself to his roots. Unlike Omar Henry, who has been trying to gain the rican fan base by getting to one of his parent heritage.

There are two Jonathan Gonzalez. One is known as Bomba, who is a flyweight and is decent. The other is Mantequilla who is Super Welter/LightMW and he seems like an entertaining kid but lack a lot of discipline. It shows in how he goes to the ring. However, he changed trainer to Pedro Diaz and move his camp to Colorado. If he can become any good we will see in his next fight against Dzinsurik.

To answer the TS, there are none right now. IMO they are all prospect. The best prospect is Thomas Dulorme. I talked to other boxers here in PR like Del Valle and Pedraza and they told me that Dulorme was born to fight. He is very good. The two after him are them. Del Valle is crafty and he is a warrior. He wants to fight and he wants to fight the best. He has the right attitude, a real humble kid. Pedraza have the best amateur career from the bunch, but he is just starting. There is a bright future for them and PR boxing.
