As far as his record on paper he has to rate among the greatest ever. I've never been one to make up any definitive lists but I do have an idea on who were among the very best and Greb was one of them. There's just no way to question his accomplishments, because he truly fought everybody, even in their backyard. He had absolutely no fear and was willing to face opponents 30 to 40 pounds heavier than him.

The fact that there is no footage of him fighting outside of a playful sparring session with an old man, brings about the fair criticism regarding his ability to handle himself in a head-to-head sense, if you rank boxers on that basis.

He handled himself well enough against this guy though, so I figure he had to be a fairly good fighter:

There's no film on Greb, but there's film on plenty of his opponents such as Gene Tunney, the Gibbons brothers and Mickey Walker, which does give you a clue on how good he must have been.

Some say that his dirtiness is overstated.

I personally think if footage of Harry Greb is released that people will be disappointed. His resume is amazing, simply amazing. I think people are expecting a perfect fighter.

He looks incredibley crude on that sparring footage but let's be fair, it's obviously not a serious session. Infact, it's barely even contact. He's sparring a guy he knows #1 and #2 he's literally ancient in that video. People seem to put more emphasis on it.

The fact of the matter is though, his resume is incredible. He certainly has one of, if not the best resumes of all time. It's a real shame there's no footage of him.

Once upon time, people had a lot of faith that Greb footage was out there. Seems people have given up shape.

              Dirty, but scientifically dirty.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but perhaps the footage isn't a representation of his fights?

And as hard as you may find it to believe, it happened. He beat him, and that's a fact.
