Ward has yet to be gifted a Win in his hometown soooooooooo...

Also not exactly sure of what Kessler and Abraham draw in their hometowns, but IIRC they also drew well. Those are probably the only two you could argue, because there was no way the finals were going to take place in someone's hometown; so I'm sure there is a financial impact that could be argued. Still the fact that he pretty much wide UD's everyone makes it a moot point.

Gift decision is irrelevant in Ward's case. It's the fact that he's allowed to illegally hug and hold all night, hence significantly aid the decision in his favor. I don't know if it's hometown cooking or what, but the fact remains that it's happening for one reason or another. Even Al Bernstein was calling out the blatant hug fest probably until the guys in the truck told him to STFU.

Sturm DID fight in America, he beat and then got robbed against OScar De La Hoya....one of Americas ALL time FAVORITE fighters. He then earned a title and defended it in his own backyard? Why should he defend his title in America where he got ROBBED blindly in one of his biggest fights there?

Also you act as if America is entitled to having champs defend titles there. The man won a title and can choose to fight wherever he wants. Not even including the fact he got robbed.

It would be interesting to see what would have happened if his home referees didn't allow him to use illegal tactics like hitting off the break and deliberately headbutting.

And it would be interesting to see Ward's results after Olympic-style PED testing in Europe.

Ward seems like a nice enough guy but he doesn't need this home advantage thing. They keep letting him get this advantage or giving it to him for a reason...as a precautionary measure.

There is too much that tends to just fall in his favor for almost every fight for me to say he is a "top dog"......whether the things have helped him or not...they are still in place for when he does need them

What some fail to notice in this regard, is that:

1: even though Froch wanted random testing for the s6 final, there was none.

2: even though Dawson's promotor Gary Shaw has said that Ward - Dawson is a fight between clean athletes there is no OST.

3: even though Ward has said that he no longer worked with PED expert Victor Conte he still does.

4: even though Ward has said he wants stricter testing in boxing there is none for his fight with Dawson and there hasnt been such for any Ward fight.

Maybe that is why Ward has misplaced his passport?
