Pascal set the blueprint on how to beat Dawson..
Basically control the distance with your legs, taking away Chads jab
Make Chad come after you, then jump in with combos or quick punch as Chads defense is mediocre at best..

Ward is gonna control the distance, jump in with lead rights and then clinch, rough a weakened Dawson up on the inside, the refs breaks it up and Ward does it over and over and over again as Dawson is too dumb to adjust..

i mean i watched atleast 20 of dawsons fights, some of them over and over again and pascal is the single worst performance of his entire career by far. in fact its more than just a poor perfromance, it wasnt even him. dawson didnt show up for that fight, if you followed his career and know what hes capable of you would see that too. we all know chad had a bunch of personal and proffessional problems going into that fight and it got to him.

you cant just look at any single fight and take too much away from it, especially if the fighter in question is underperforming. you cant assume chad will underperform against ward. on top of that the fight was a couple of years ago and chad had improved since.


what if i judged ward on his worst performance? the ward who fought bika wouldnt stand a chance against dawson. ward barely won that fight and bika isnt even on dawsons level. again its not fair to judge him at his worst. look at dawson against tarver or the johnson rematch, that version of chad is a handfull for anyone. hell look at adamek, harding, mendoza or ruiz.. any of his fights other than pascal.

ofcourse ward would beat chad at his worst and vice versa. but expect them both to show up come the 8th. at his best dawson is better than ward.

How do you know that it wasn't just Pascal's style that made him look that bad? appeared that way to me, Chad doesn't have that warrior mentality.

Pascal is by far the quickest opponent he has ever fought and he made Chad look pedestrian at times.

I doubt he's gonna walk into the ring and KO one of the most consistent fighters in boxing right now. This is gonna be a close fight where Ward's roughhousing is gonna wear Dawson down physically and mentally. Ward will find a way to get around Dawson's long reach and **** to his body. He'll use the lead right (like B-Hop) to initiate clinches and won't allow Dawson to establish a rhythm. Ward's mental fortitude and intelligence will win him this fight.

And just like B-Hop, one of his strengths is ring generalship. While Dawson is waiting and posing, Ward is gonna be flicking the jab to the head/stomach, trying to lure Dawson in for the straight right counter, and he's gonna be catching Chad with the lead left hook too. Ward knows how to win rounds. In every close round, Ward will most likely get the nod.
