Arum: "So you want to fight Dec. 1st and possibly with Floyd?"

Manny: "I want that fight with Mayweather Dec. 1"

Arum: "Ill do my best but if Floyd agrees then we will have to push the date possibly to Spring of 2013, I havent started construction for that Mega Stadium, nor do I even have blueprints or even a location for it, So if Floyd agrees it would have to be in the Spring, but I can give you another pointless fight in the meantime, trust me Manny that Megastadium will bring in 10x more money, sound good, GOOD now just do your job and train"

Manny: "Okay, I will just do my job, *starts singing* Sometimes when we touch, the honestys to much"

Now sure...is it possible that the fight does not do big numbers and Floyd makes around the same or just a tad more? Sure it is, but its not likely, and no one would bet against it doing great numbers. Bradley i dont think did as much damage as our small boxing community thinks. It didnt hurt but only help guys like Lara, guys like Whitaker, and Abrigl only got more love due to the injustice. As for the Garcia matchup for Floyd....like i said a few posts ago.....love it for him to get back into the groove of things, and put Manny with Devon in Dec. I'm totally game bud.
You cannot say Floyd would make a lot more at this stage. We don't know what Manny brings to the table...aside from more promoters who will eat off that large share of the pie. And that alone negates all of this "generate so much money" crap. Yeah it will...just not necessarily for the fighters.

Again, I respect your post and get your point. At the end of the day, floyd (working with GBP) has more options to make big money. Manny's position seems to be I won't take less from floyd when I have profitable options.

Are those options still (relative to past earnings)profitable?

Really? You really think there is a good chance for a flop event? Come on man....come on man.....Why are so many of you so concerned about how much money a promoter takes from a fighter? I mean i could swear that you all are on that fighters pay roll or something and mad because you cant get a raise or something. Also....generating is moot now because of Arum? Uhhhhh....im pretty sure that Manny will only help soar PPV sales with Floyd, and if you dont think so than I have only one thing to say to you.....******* is a helluva drug.

P.S. The small (and i do mean VERY SMALL) minority on this site that claim not care anymore....sorry, that wont effect the masses that are casual watchers from ordering this fight.

Agree 100%. Fight took a huge dump after Manny's performance against a Marquez who was put on his ass by Michael Katsidis. Then he followed it up with another shoddy performance against Bradley.
see i thought the bradley performance was good. i thought manny won easily.

of course his fans used to seeing clottey or Margs type beatdowns of slower inferior opposition were dissapointed.

flop is relative. if it doesn't do 2.5 mil ppv, its not going to generate the money posters throw out there. can it meet expectations, like movies for example.

so the fight could sell 2.1 or 2.3 mil, which is HUGE, but that wont meet expectations. Just like if the last batman did $95 mil the 1st weekend.

$95 mil is huge, except when you advertise like they did (like floyd/manny would) then its not so good. get it?

I think that both guys are running out of options. Cotto was the last big money fight for Floyd in terms of GREAT PPV sales...I dont see him ever fighting Sergio, but Canelo or Amir would be big in terms of money. I think a Manny Khan fight would do GREAT numbers with a GREAT story behind the promo, and Floyd with Canelo would be just as good. Thats about all thats left for these 2 it seems other than each other. I guess in a way, both guys need to decide if these smaller names are worth the bigger money payday.

Floyd will be remember for ducking his biggest rival.

Can you imagine in Ali refused to Frazier or Tyson refused to fight Hoyfield, maybe SRL saying no to Hearns and JCC ducking the Taylor fight.

Floyd Mayweather is one of the reasons why boxing is dying in America, style and hype over substance and tough fights.

except khan has said he would never fight manny and he is still with gbp. I think Canelo/floyd could outsell cotto/floyd, especially if canelo beats cotto.

true, floyd can only milk the cash cow 2 more times-canelo and sergio. Manny- i just don't see any real big options, unless he fights sergio.

Manny has turned the fight down twice so the people who remember floyd ducked himwill be manny's fanbase or floyd's haters, or posters like you that are both. I'm sure you'll be protesting outside Canosta (sp) when he goes into the IBHOF.

SRL did say no to Hearns, made him wait 2+ years. Any real boxing fans remember that. I wonder why you didn't remember? hmmmmm
