I guess I am one of them. But I realize how good he WAS and the fact that he won't fight any good heavys is a problem I have. If anyone here can name 1 guys that Toney had taken on at heavy that was any good (and don't even say Guinn cuz I call bull**** on that one) I will turn.

He is a talented fighter who is smart because he will beat Rahman, I mean what top 10 guy couldn;t beat him right now, and then fight a few small guys before he goes out on top. But mark my words, he will NEVER fight Wlad, Byrd, Vitali or any of ther big guys in the division.

Im just curious, as I have tons of respect for the guy.

cause they are a bunch of haters. Theres nothing that anyone should hate about Toney. So what that he's out of shape? It doesnt stop him for kicking his opponents ass for 12 rounds. This may come as a news flash, but Vitali is retired, and before he bowed out, he had an offer to fight James Toney when it looked like he could squeak a fight in before the Rahman fight, and he looked toward Maskeav instead.

This may also come as a news flash, but Wlad Klitschko is not a current top Heavyweight. He's rebuilding, and top ten again, but those two brutal KO losses and being down 8 times in his last 7 fights hardly make him a figure anyone's 'ducking'.

That leaves us with Byrd, who Toney has been lobying to fight for just some time.

It would really be better if people like you came out and just said you don't like him rather than come up with poor excuses for reasons why.

Because suggesting he'll "Never" fight the guys you mention is a joke.

And Fly's right, it's pretty funny that you're suggesting Vitali was one of the people he wouldn't fight when Vitali wouldn't fight anyone himself. He was a title holder for two years and he made ONE defense agaisnt Danny Williams.

I think he's an awesome fighter. Very subtle.

Personally, I don't tend to like fighters (of any colour) who talk a lot of smack.
