Why do people hate James Toney?

The only people that seem to 'hate' him are Nut Hugging fans of other Heavyweights who feel threatened with the praize he gets.

That seems to be the factor behind their spite in almost every case.

I can see someone not liking his personality, but you've got to respect the guy as a fighter. He's a former Middleweight in the thick of it in the current top Heavyweight rankings.

All time great, and a shoe in for the Hall of Fame.

His personality is funny. Seems to be very cool and I agree, he's fighting at a weight far from his original weight class AND he's doing well.

By hate, he's referring to the clowns who dismiss Toney as a fat slob or a midget when he's mentioned, disregarding the fact he's a top contender at Heavyweight. Some of them are even ignorant / ****** enough that they have no knowledge of his past accomplishments at lower weights, or that he was once considered the pound for pound best fighter in the world when he was a middleweight.

There's enough of them around here, so don't act suprized.

Many of them are Klitschko nut huggers, aka sisters of yours.

I actually think that there aren't people that hate Toney(well not that many) but people take the fat jokes (justified) as an insult to his ability when its not. Other message boards are littered with this same topic all the time and most responses are like the ones above. I think its just one of those arguments where nobody is really fighting for the other side

I guess I am one of them. But I realize how good he WAS and the fact that he won't fight any good heavys is a problem I have. If anyone here can name 1 guys that Toney had taken on at heavy that was any good (and don't even say Guinn cuz I call bull**** on that one) I will turn.

He is a talented fighter who is smart because he will beat Rahman, I mean what top 10 guy couldn;t beat him right now, and then fight a few small guys before he goes out on top. But mark my words, he will NEVER fight Wlad, Byrd, Vitali or any of ther big guys in the division.
