I guess it depends on how you look at it. The number of tickets sold doesn't quite jump out me as much as the fact that the live gate didn't even cover Escobedo's purse BEFORE he received additional financial incentive to take the fight under the circumstances.
That's the trend I noticed with nearly every fight on the list - all but Pac-Bradley and possibly Chavez-Lee saw live gates that were less than what the B-side of the promotion was getting paid, never mind covering the A-side.
At some point, boxing executives have to figure out they're running a bankrupt system.
