4500 is a good number. That's more than Khan and Garcia just did and about 2000 more than Donaire just did, about 3000 more than Tarver just did.
that good number is only a good number only because its adrien broner in america, i bet a washed up morales would see that number as a failure, lol, i bet even a washed up roy jones with 80 losses would consider that horrible number a failure

in american standards it is but its still a big awful dissappoimtment anywhere else so if you want to claim sucess to a more than half empty place, you can claim it , it was a horrible draw, i bet butterbean today would draw just as many tickets in a circus show

I guess it depends on how you look at it. The number of tickets sold doesn't quite jump out me as much as the fact that the live gate didn't even cover Escobedo's purse BEFORE he received additional financial incentive to take the fight under the circumstances.
That's the trend I noticed with nearly every fight on the list - all but Pac-Bradley and possibly Chavez-Lee saw live gates that were less than what the B-side of the promotion was getting paid, never mind covering the A-side.
At some point, boxing executives have to figure out they're running a bankrupt system.

To me the gate really isn't important right now. The important thing right now is the exposure. Headlining a HBO card with 4500 in attendance is what matters right now. Golden Boy and HBO want people to know Broner's name and know what he looks like right now. The money will come when the fights get bigger. They are building a fan base and collecting haters right now. It will work itself out.
