    This is all true.

I didn't make my point very well.

I'll try to do better : If we're positing that Hatton is unlikely to win on points then has to win by stoppage. If Marquez is disciplined enough to box if/when he gets in trouble, then how is Ricky gonna' win?

Or maybe I've got it backwards and you think it's more likely for Hatton to win on points than by KO?

For me the only chance that Hatton would have is to fight pretty much the exact same fight he fought against Kostya Tzu. But that only works if he gets the right ref.

JMM would put on a master-class performance .... so much so, that I doubt it would go the distance.

I think it's unlikely that Hatton wins in general. I don't expect Hatton to beat Marquez. I find it very hard to see a way Hatton wins.

But, what I do expect, and believe is guaranteed, is it would be an amazing, blood and guts fight.

            Fight of the decade.

Marquez by stoppage, late after having hit the canvas himself quite a few times.

            Should've happened in real life!

Marquez makes him rethink his entire life choices and ultimately tko's him in the mid rounds

It would be significantly easier than people thinkk

Inside is where JMM applies what Lampley refers to as his craft. If this fight happens, Hatton will have his moments but JMM wins a close but deserved decision 116-113.
You're describing a version of JMM I haven't watched (and I've seen quite a few of his fights).

JMM likes to stand in front of his opponent, box and counter-punch. How does he deal with an opponent leaning on his chest all night stopping him from getting off?

Triangle theory? JMM would catch Hatton on the way in, everyone catches Hatton on the way in but the only time it has bothered Hatton is against Pacquiao and Marquez just doesn't have that kind of power.

It's difficult to know where Hatton is at right now in terms of punch resistance but IMO this is a fight made for him.

I don't agree with the hugging part but I do agree the ref has a role to play. If it's reffed like a corrupt Cortez or an interfering Pabon seperating the fighters wherever possible then I see Marquez outboxing Ricky, but a Smoger who lets fighters fight then Hatton dominates.
