What's Worse: Pacquiao draining Cotto by 2 lbs, Or Ward draining Dawson by 7 lbs?

145 or 147 wouldn't matter that night it would of been the same result. PAC simply had Cotto's number that night. Styles make fights....

perhaps i should have made it explicit that i was joking

i didn't hold a gun to cotto's head and thought that claiming to do so would result in the rest of the post being seen as farcical

i was trying to illustrate the sideways logic of the mayweather jr / pacquiao fans

Pacquiao did not need Cotto to come down to 145 to defend his own title. It's a wait and see with Dawson and Ward. With Cotto Pacquiao fans knew Pacquiaos team was trying to drain Cotto.
DLH had just fought at 150, Pac was coming up from 135. Or if we go back one fight, went down 1, Pac up 3 weghtclasses. Ward is still in his first, I'm surprised he wouldn't go for Dawson's lineal belt.

Now we know Pac didn't need the cw, at the time it wasn't so obvious. One year earlier it was much much less obvious, you could have made 10x if you'd bet on Pac vs Cotto just 12 months earlier.

Wrong! There are many great fighters sooooooo much better than Floyd legacy wise who suffered a ko losses in their career. Undefeated don't mean anything but resume did. Floyd took less cherry picked fights = lesser risk to preserved his 0. Floyd is clever by following his motto seriously. "Self preservation comes first." You see...its been 5 years since he retired and came back. How many fights did he fought in those 5 years? just 4 fights bro! Just four fight! Less cherry picked fights mean a lesser risk to his 0 record.

          2012 - past prime Cotto
          2011 - sucker punched Ortiz
          2010 - past prime Mosley
          2009 - weight cheated Marquez
          2008 - retired

Now in the same 5 years Pac fought 10 times = greater risk but well earned for his legacy.

          2012 - Bradley
          2011 - Marquez, Mosley
          2010 - Margarito, Clottey
          2009 - Cotto, Hatton
          2008 - Oscar, Diaz, Marquez

Floyd undefeated record will never beat Pac accomplishments in his lifetime.

Black boxers get away with so much ****. From draining boxers, hometown fights, decisions, ducking to cheating. Chad Dawson has not fought at 168 in YEARS. These same guys praising Ward are the same ones that are critcizing Pac for two pounds on a WW at the time and DLH who hasn't fought at WW in years.

White boxers rarely rematch men who knock them out with the exception of Andy Lee who I respect. Wlad didn't rematch Sanders, and Vitali didn't rematch Byrd. Smh...

I said the same thing, but for some reason, Pacquiao and his people wanted the fight at 145lbs...and Pacquiao wasn't even the champion.
