if he fights past 38 it will be negative............

I don't care how good you think he is. past 38 you're no longer dealing with mayweather, you're dealing with a old man.

JC and BH didnt take 2 year breaks and they were still champs at 36 years and above. You havent done anything special. Your defense hasnt got anything to do with anything 35 aint old. And it certainly aint old if you take long breaks.

I just think it would be a great story for boxing and would draw a lot of attention to the sport

Thats my thinking too. As much as I dislike Floyd it would be great for the sport. I'll take that over my personal feelings when it comes to such a topic.

He's 35 now and I haven't seen any signs of decline. There have been plenty of guys who were at or close to their peak between 35 and 40. I could see Floyd fighting for another 4 or 5 years and staying undefeated. He's really only had 3 or 4 tough fights in his whole career and his best attributes are not of the kind that fade with age. His biggest attributes are his ring intelligence and his dedication, they are the main reasons why he is so far ahead of anyone else in this era and I don't expect either of them to just go away with time. We'll see what happens but I expect him to find it difficult to step away from the game in the next 3 years. I think that he will want to still be around once Manny Pacquiao has retired.

I hope he's 38 by the first of he year!!! Fight Manny ONCE! then both ride into the sunset so the new fleet of young lions can come in and carry on.
Both Manny and Floyd have done their best up till now and they are capable of training at a high level for each other but other than each other I'm tired of them both. I've stated I don't care about their bout because both (mostly Floyd) has held the bout captive for years but if they can stop being promotors and be fighters they should be able to get it together. They don't need $.50 or his lil cuz "drop a dime" to promote a thing, they can do it by signing on the dotted line. A 50/50 split because they "need" each other!! Ray
