He has never really claimed to be a massive draw in the US, and for a foreign fighter he is doing a good job over there, fact of the matter is he has not faced any superstars in the US, if he had continued to win he would have landed a fight with Mayweather and from there he would have been a bonafide draw, and most people in the US would know who he is too. Just like Mayweather only became mainstream in the US after De la Hoya, and Pacquiao the same, although he did big gates and ppv based on his fights with Marquez, Barrera, and Morales. Khan has not really had that break out type fight.
US fights aside Khan has been a sell-out type fighter since his debut. How many fighters can claim that? He has been a headliner since his debut. His first pro contract was 7 figures. He was fighting in front of 10-15k when he was at British level. He is trying to conquer a foreign Market and it doesn't happen overnight, if you are going to be critical it should be of some of these American fighters, and fans, who cant even get on an internal flight to support their fighters, and the fighters who need Khan, a foreign fighter to make their biggest pay days.
