The majority of boxing fans do not know those guys, and especially Mexicans don't know those guys.

Sorry man, but the majority of Mexicans who follow boxing know more about the sport and fighters in general than you're giving them credit for. Austin Trout went down to Mexico and beat Canelo's BROTHER to win the belt he currently has. You don't think Mexicans know about that? Carlos Molina has a draw (arguably a win) over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr...the only blemish on his undefeated record. You don't think Mexicans know about that? Many people in Mexico and Mexicans here in the States are familiar with The Contender series, so they would at least remember who K9 Bundrage is too.

The point is, any of those fighters would've been MUCH MUCH better opponents for Alvarez. Yeah, Josesito Lopez made a name for himself by breaking Victor Ortiz' jaw...in a fight that he was losing and getting beat up in as well. He fought and performed better than anyone thought he would, but he simply wasn't the right pick for this upcoming fight.

When Ortiz was going to fight Canelo people on Boxing Scene were split on who would win. Lopez just TKOed Ortiz. If Canelo can beat Lopez with ease I would think that would indicate that Canelo is better than Ortiz. Lopez is smaller than Canelo but he is a game tough fighter with fast hands and power in both of them. I'll bet when this fight gets closer some guys on here will pick him to beat Canelo. I think Canelo will KO him in 6 rounds or less.

I don't think many people think Lopez is a bum. The problem is that he's a jr welterweight. Canela is a champ at 154 and he doesn't even fight guys from the 154 pound division. He's a joke and he sucks.
