Fans and their "out of their prime" excuse

Whats up with people claiming Tito and Jones were out of their primes when they lost? Jones just went to heavy and won a title and Tito demolished a solid Mayorga.

Why cant they just say their favorite fighter was beaten by a better boxer?

EDIT: LET ME ADD KOSTYA TYZU TO THIS LIST. HE WAS STILL GOOD WHEN HATTON BEAT HIS ASS. KOSTYA JUST PUT THE SMACKDOWN ON SHARMBA MITCHELL.

I don't recall many people saying Tito was out of his prime. And with Jones, he was out of his prime, and if he wasn't, he was fighting Tarver as a middleweight.

If you can't win and are going to use that excuse you should not be fighting anymore IMO.

Read Machotimes posts. Tito is a shadow of his former self according to him.

Some classic examples also include Tyson. But to be honest with you nash, no1 is going to argue that Tyson wasnt out of his prime when he lost to Holyfield/Lewis/McBride/Williams, to be quite honest.

So there are examples of when the excuse becomes more of a reason....

I don't buy the out of their prime bull**** EVER when a fighter loses for the first time. Their prime doesn't mean ****. You lose, it's cuz you lost to the better man. Get the **** over it.
