[B]EDIT: LET ME ADD KOSTYA TYZU TO THIS LIST. HE WAS STILL GOOD WHEN HATTON BEAT HIS ASS. KOSTYA JUST PUT THE SMACKDOWN ON SHARMBA MITCHELL.

The prime stuff is just to not give fighters their due credit for beating a good boxer.

Why cant they just say their favorite fighter was beaten by a better boxer?

Agree but when fans say he "was out of his prime" it really means --> "I aint giving Tarver credit"

BUT.....that didn't stop me from thinking he would beat Tarver (fights 1 & 2).

I thought he'd beat Tarver, but he got blasted. So, all credit to Tarver.
Saying Jones wasn't at his best does not take away from Tarver's accomplishment.

There is a big difference between the crack head Whitaker that Tito fought and the Whitaker against DLH.

People knew Whitaker was not where he used to be, and you don't need to be a Whitaker enthusiast to acknowledge that.

But NO ONE was talking about "prime" with RJJ before he was beaten by Tarver. In fact, people were talking about him being the "all time greatest" boxer... remember that?

Im waiting for the dummies to say Hopkins was out of his prime too against Taylor.

Do you give Oscar DeLaHoya credit for beating the alcoholic Julio Cesar Chavez ?
That version of Chavez was nowhere near the fighter beaten by Whitaker.

This Flyyy character is missing parts of his brain. You're saying that every fighter that gets beat is still in their prime and they can't use it as an excuse? So Ali's last losses were credible?

You're not listening Sugashane, Im saying thats a bad excuse. Theres a difference between a crackhead Whitaker and RJJ that was beaten by Tarver.

If you can't see that, cut off your computer... now.
