24% for manager? That seems kind of high, I think. Plus add on trainer fees, camp fees, and the rest of the team, that's gonna whittle that 800k down to less then half...

Wow, that is a hefty percentage. I was always under the impression that promoters and managers got around 10% for less popular fighters and a set rate for popular boxers with increased leverage.

24% is way to high for a manager.

it depends. when ortiz was making 2-3k a fight the mgr was only making a few hundred bucks. usually the camp fees, sparring partners etc are all paid by the manager. Some fighters get a monthly fee as well. Most managers lose money first few years then try to recoup it so most take 33%.

once the fighter is established then usually renewed contracts or contracts with new managers are at 10%. it all depends on what the mgr pays for and what the fighter agrees to

This isn't the first time that Ortiz has screwed a manager out of his share. Once before he filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying what he owed his previous manager.

Eventually everyone will realize that Ortiz is a scumbag and a total phony.

Then Ortiz shouldn't have signed the contract and found another manager. Maybe Victor's entreprenurial skills aren't as good as he thinks they are. Just like his boxing skills.
