Well if Ortiz were to pay Rolando his commission of 192k without a license then Ortiz would have probably been fined. That's probably why he made a stop payment. He's also been recovering and it's not his responsibility to keep up with his manager's stuff at a time like that. I'm sure Ortiz' accountant let him know his manager's license expired. The whole purpose of a license is to be registered in order to make your commission, which is what Rolando didn't have...

Marciano's manager Al Weill, a "connected" person used to take 50% from the purse. Still Marciano was reputed to have had over $4 mill when he was killed in that air crash-a huge amount for those days.
