Actually, if you look at it. He has LOTS of bargaining power. Imagine how the fight not happening is going to hurt Broners future with HBO. I'll bet its worth atleast $2,000,000 to avoid that fall out.

Broner will not be making nearly the money he is making on HBO fighting off HBO. If the fight doesn't happen. I doubt we will see Broner back on HBO in the next year or 2.

      • I'm sure HBO is pissed...but their hands are tied really. They've already invested money in this kid so any way they could "punish" him would just be punishing themselves as well.

Not only that, there is no fight tonight as it stands right now. The only way a fight happens is if team Escobedo agrees to it. He has all of the bargaining power right now.

Oh well? This is not oh well. Broner just disrespected the fans of boxing. We are the ones making this kid rich. Without us, he wouldn't even be a boxer, and he wouldn't have shiiiit either.

Actually, I think a fallout like this can be a good thing for Broner's career. It paves the way for a 'heel' character for people to pay to see him lose. However, he'd have to beat the right opposition afterward. It can pay dividends later on. Businesswise it is great. However, for those of us not making a dime off it, it totally sucks.

I have to disagree about Broner not being back on HBO after this one time disaster. HBO would probably get on Haymon's bad side and lose the Mayweather express. Look what happened when they got on Arum's bad side and temporarily lost the Pacquiao express.

              • He Would not be having this problem if he was fighting in a weight class that he should be fighting at.

Why would anybody pay to see him when there's no guarantee he'll make the weight and the fight will happen.
