wasn't this fight after a layoff? and Bert Cooper ****s harder than Haye.

      Another great war for Holyfield.

Replace Dokes with Haye and who knows:

I still think Holy takes it, but again, it's close.

I don't recall off memory. It was a long time ago.

But Bert Cooper and David Haye don't compare. Cooper was a journyman. No more than a stepping stone. Haye is much more explosive with much more movement. Not close.

If the best Holyfield turned up, he'd stop Haye IMO.

I think if the other Holyfield turned upm he'd still beat Haye. I just think he's the better fighter, he'd really got to work on the inside against Haye.

I do think Haye has a few tools that may give Holyfield some problems though. I can see what you're seeing.

But still, IMO, Holyfield definitely beats him.
Very good fight had it happened.

I said he hits harder. David haye is a blown up CW. Everyone on Hayes record besides Wlad, Cooper would have beat. There are plenty of better instances of Holyfield in his prime then that fight. What about Haye getting koed by a middleweight? or dropped by Barret (ruled a slip).
Haye was breathing like a horse after 5 rounds. He's blown up all that extra muscle is just making him suck wind. Holyfield was a 15 round fighter.

Let's not act like Holyfield didn't have life and death fights with Bert Cooper, Michael Dokes and lose to Michael Moorer and Bowe in his prime.

Sure they don't have the same style as Haye, but Holyfield wasn't a God that would kill Haye in 10 seconds. Holyfield was one of my favorite fighters coming up, but he wasn't Mike Tyson invinceable.

If Dokes and Cooper can take a prime Holyfield to the limit, so can Haye.
He was far better then Mike Tyson, and would beat the brakes off of Haye.

What's power if your opponents see's it coming?

Haye has the speed which is why he was hands down a better puncher than Cooper.

Also, Holyfield was a blown up CW so size means absolutely nothing.

Listen, I agree that Holy wins, but it's not the wipe out, God like victory that some think it would. It's a very competitive fight.

This is coming from someone that believes in Holyfield against the best of them. Styles make fights and I see a close fight here.

FYI, Bert Cooper would not have beaten Barret, Valuev, Harrison or Ruiz lol

Bert Cooper was a bum. A stepping stone, nothing more. He's what you call a journyman. Not sure why you think so greatly of Bert Cooper. Maybe it fits your agenda

Holyfield wouldn't beat the Gus D'motto Tyson. No way.

                      Holyfield beats Haye why??

Haye does not have the power to hurt Holyfield, doesn't have the stamina to hang with Holyfield, basically Holyfield will walk through him and take his soul.
