Thank god his contract is almost up. I've been sayng it for awhile now, Bob Arum would not match Rigondeaux with good fights until Donaire is out of the division, which is most likely why Rigo is getting his 2nd straight ehhhhh fight in a row.

I'm not a fan of Arum & Co., but they haven't done badly by Rigo. Guillermo is an assassin with ten pro fights, in a division where one of the company's stars has decided to campaign. Under the circumstances, I can't see Rigondeaux doing much better. Look at Lara under Golden Boy. He's not getting the fights he deserves, much less a date with the resident star: "Canelo" Alvarez. What is Rigo to do? There's a short list of big promoters.

TR has no intention on ever making Donaire-Rigondeaux because Donaire is their next big thing once Manny is gone, or at least that's what they hope. And GBP will never make Alvarez-Lara because Alvarez is already becoming their next big thing.

So what you're saying is, chin is important in the pros, less so in the amateurs. Remind me, when has Rigo proven his in the pros? The one time he got hit clean (with a jab) he went down, and ran out the remaining 5 rounds.

But I disagree it's the chin only that doomed Barthelemy, he's lost UDs to "bums" (that's what you'd call em, I'm sure).

rigo didnt went down , he was off balance , wiyh his right foot on the air when he got a soft jab and touch the canvas with the rigth glove. go to you tube and watch. im saying bartelemi has no chin. rigo beats donaire, you know that. franco beats him too. gamboa beats him too. and rigo is the best of them all.
rigo boxed cordova from the 6 to the end , the way he alwats did in the amateur. thats the way he won most of the time.hitting and not getting hit back.it was only his 7 pro fight, first 12 rounds , against a goog one , taller and experienced who dint come to fight. if you remember , watch how cordova would not trow punches , was fighting a defensive fight. rigo beat him, and beats donaire easily, as donaire is wide open without defense. just watch and see.

Get this, Donaire is not even the first p4p guy Mathebula gave hell to. Caballero was the rings top 10 p4p, unified champ at 122, huge at the weight. Fighting at home, gets a hometown decision, much tougher time than Donaire.
