Was thinking the same thing. Maybe they will steal Sergio away. Is the contract even signed yet? Last I heard the deal was 95% done for Martinez vs Chavez, but it depends what the other 5% is they are haggling over. If taking tests is the sticking point I doubt they will fight.

Either that or is Canelo vs Cotto, which will be huge but I doubt historical.

Agreed! Like that one time De La Hoya had some news he said was going to shake up the boxing world, and it was something ******, I can't remember.

Cotto or Floyd; there is no reason for not to move the date.
Proud is a bad thing, I hope they can be more flexible and make the move. The other way is just give it for free vs K9, or any other "B" class fighter.

Garbage... Unless he fights Lara, he best news that can possibly be released about Canelo is that the fight gets postponed until NOVEMBER and he fights Kirkland. Then we can all watch the Sergio fight in peace and canelo will be properly matched up.

Hyperbole from a boxing promoter? Shocking!

What can they possibly offer that can be considered even remotely "historic"?

You're saying a unification with Trout is historic? huh? Even if it is, I'm not even sure it counts because Floyd has the full super WBA belt.
