Maidana Not Ducking Anyone; Thurman Would Outweigh Maidana By 20+lbs!

It's funny how these larger fighters want to lure these smaller guys into a "catch weight", then show up fight night, hydrated back to being more than 20lbs heavier, as a huge advantage. It didn't work that way for Margarito who was more than 25lbs heavier than Pacquaio on fight night, but Manny said, that was more than a challenge to beat up a guy that large. Maidana who has manhandled everyone at his 135-140 classes, fought brilliantly against Devon Alexander, but wasn't big enough to handle Alexander as the fight wore on. ANd as memory serves me, Maidana's team said they weren't going into that 147 lb class again, yet his new management team is hell bent on him fighting there anyway.... POOR MANAGEMENT. Why do this and ruin such a talent. Have Maidana get his shot with Bradley, have him fight JMM, have him fight Amir Khan. Those are healthy fights for him to have. Have Thurman go up and fight Canelo, Martinez, a 40 year old Shane Mosley.

If a fighter fights between 147 and 152, that doesn't make them a junior middleweight, or a natural junior middleweight it means they are fighting over the Welterweight limit if no titles are at stake, especially if they have never fought at 154. But team Maidana should have never even considered a guy that high in weight when he said that Welterweight was too high after the Alexander loss.

Lets see who Thurman fights and see if he is legit. He has to prove he can bring his power to a B class level first. And we have to see what happens when someone takes his best shot without flinching and then taps him on the chin and see what happens.

So far Maidana denied any rumors about Canelo but maybe that is just a facade and if they get an offer, they will take. If that is the case, then Canelo offers more reward for greater risk than Thurman would have been.

but if it's not he's totally 6itched out against Thurman. honestly I'm just guessing it's Canelo because Maidana seems like a typical Canelo opponent.

Maidana ducked an Ortiz rematch, pulled out of a Bradley fight, and now a fight against Thurman (who is pretty much a prospect)?
