There is a gun in every Swiss home but their murder rate is 0.66, much lower than the States and the UK which has very strict gun control.

Mexico murder rate is around 15, about 3 times higher that the States, though that was a couple years ago.

But you can't compare it to other countries like Pakistan, India, Mexico, Irag, or any other countries that aren't considered first rate countries. There's no doubt the USA has a problem with crime, but it's decreased a lot since the 80's peak and the 90's.
Pakistan's is not that high on a world level. At 7.3 it not that far of the States.

The country that tops the charts is Honduras with 87 murders a year per 100,000 people

Mexico would probably be better to compare to another country like Venezuela or something. Have you ever been to Mexico? I have, and of course their murder rate is going to be higher than the United States.

As bad as crime is in the United States, especially for being a first rate country, it's decreased a ton since the 80's and 90's man.

Pakstan still should never be compared to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or even Russia and Brazil.

Honduras....I knew it was some Latin American country, couldn't remember which. But that's a 3rd world country, their crime is terrible but it's to be expected.

The only places the USA should be compared to is places like Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, China, places like that.

            • And what is wrong with Washington DC?

Why was it murder rate in 2000 up at 43.9 and is still at 24 now?

And Puerto Rico's murder rate is 3 times that of Pakistan.

It's gone down. Crime in the Untied States has gone down greatly since the 80's and late 90's.

Murder rate isn't always a great tool to use either. For example, New York City has a low murder rate every year per 100K people, but they have a ton of murders because they are such a big city. They have really nice areas and really really bad areas.

Detroit, Flint, Campden, those are the worst places to live in the USA if you ask me. All huge, big, somewhat big, cities int he USA have good areas and bad areas. The only cities I've been to that I never saw a bad area/gang area or higher crime area was probably Spokane, which is a decent size. Of course, I haven't been every big city in the USA, lol.

                • On a plus note for the States, Utah, Iowa, Vermont, New Hampshire, are all places where you are less likely to get murdered than the UK. With New Hampshire being the best with 0.8.

Utah is an amazing state, it's beautiful. I just don't know if I could deal with the kind of people who live there. If you've been to Utah, you know what I mean.
