Marquez would ice him, a Maidana fight would be a toss up, Peterson would probably lose but he would be game.

I'd give Marquez a fair shot tbh though I would favour Lucas being the stronger, fresher fighter of the two.

I think he beats Maidana pretty easily tbh & Peterson though both definitely would be game.
I think Maidanas live or die attitude costs him dearly.

I know his jabs good, precisely the point I was trying to make. That said Soto also has a very good jab where as Manny simply put, doesn't.

Who cares what weight class he came from when he was a kid? He debuted at 118 about 15 or more years ago, people/fighters grow!
He had good success through all the weights and outgrew them much like Manny did.
Lets not make out Soto wasn't comfortable at 140, he was undefeated at the weight & has fought at 140 for some time now!
I can only presume Lucas gets less credit by your logic seeing he didn't fight him at a catchweight

Matthyse just lost to Judah but it could have been the other way. Alexander already lost to Bradley and lost to Kotelnik as he did to Matthyse IMO.

Lucas gets full credit for beating Soto up, but Soto isn't even that good. He is World class but not in that elite zone at all. He doesn't have the resume of quality guys and especially at 140.

Cotto hits harder than Matthyse. Has a better jab. Has better body shots. Is faster. Has a better defense.

That's what makes this sport so exciting, its unpredictable. Who would have thought Ortiz would lose to Lopez the way he did. He was way ahead of the scorecards, you'd think Ortiz would take it. I mean, sure Lopez can still win IF he KO Ortiz right. But he didn't and Ortiz quit.

Ok, you don't think Mathysse has a chance because "no one", I mean no one can handle Pac's speed and power. Even if they did handle his speed and power, they wouldn't really handle his speed and power, I get it.

You don't think Lucas can do it. Ok, that's fine. I doubt that he can also, but IF (very possible) he will stop Pac or beat him.

Every fighters has the style to beat other fighter but Mathysse doesn't have the style to beat Pac. Mathysse style is like Hatton and Margarito combined but not better than Mosley, Cotto and Clottey combined.Take note all these fighters are full pledge welterweights. They are much bigger, stronger and punches harder than 140 Mathysse. If Pac beat them in one sided fashion, imagine what he can do 140 Mathysse.

Soto has a lot of 'good' wins but nothing too spectacular, I agree. Though he is certainly a very good fighter who had never been down actually in his enitre career.

I like Cotto but the man was a zombie that night, hes easy to bust up, I wouldn't say his defense was better than Matthysses & IMO he neglected his body-punching in most of his recent fights. He beat Cotto impressively but the guy was dead at the weight as far as I am concerned.
