For $2,000,000, even the wimpiest of boxingscene's keyboard warriors would fight 3 rounds with a broken jaw.

“I’m going to stop while I’m ahead, and that way, I can speak well when I’m older."

"We’ll see what happens from here on out, man,” he said. “I’m young, but I don’t think I deserve to be getting beaten up like this. So I have a lot of thinking to do.”

I knew it. Why did no one bring up that Ortiz' trainer was asking him for like 3-4 rounds if he was alright??? His jaw was broken in the 5th round.

This is make or break for Ortiz. He has to beat Lopez in the rematch, and he has to do so convincingly.

I promise, I will shut up if I get even one name of a fighter that had his career ended because his jaw was broken.

I'm also not hating on Victor Ortiz, I expect this from Victor Ortiz, I'm just having a hard time believing all the people acting like his neck was broken and he didn't quit.
where is this list of boxers?lets say 13 boxers have fought with a broken jaw that still 13 out of millions of boxers.i'm not saying victor didn't quit i just don't think it's that bad that he didn't want to fight anymore because he had a broken jaw the maidana situation was much worst because it seemed like he quit just to quit in that fight

Check the dozens of threads about this. I'm sure you'll see plenty of names of fighters that have fought through broken jaws. I'm still waiting for one name, just ONE, of a fighter that had their career ended because of a broken jaw. If someone gives me just one, I'll shut up about Ortiz being a quitter. Considering everyone keeps saying his career was in danger, there should be one fighter that had his career ended because of a broken jaw.
