Not all elite fighters have had their jaws broken so there really is no way to know whether all the greats would be willing to continue if that happened to them. We assume they would, but I don't know if there are enough examples to assume that everyone would do it. "elite" fighters have quit for much less than that

The thing is many other fighter would get the benefit of the doubt but Ortiz wont for two reasons
1- He has a history of folding
2- He was already showing signs of # 1 before the jaw issue showed up. He started fouling for no reason and literally looked shook when Lopez started taunting him after eating his punches. "Lawnchair" Ortiz started rearing his ugly head before we saw the jaw become a problem which is leading many people to believe he was waiting for an excuse to quit .

There is a list of like 13 fighters that have fought with a broken jaw that has been posted numerous times in these threads when people start saying what you just said. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me even one time when a guy fought on with a broken jaw and had his career ending. I promise, I will shut up if I get even one name of a fighter that had his career ended because his jaw was broken.

I'm also not hating on Victor Ortiz, I expect this from Victor Ortiz, I'm just having a hard time believing all the people acting like his neck was broken and he didn't quit.
