I know about japan as far as MMA (i was a kick boxer) & I've always known that they didn't test their MMA fighters. thats why i wondered if it was different with their boxers...........Last edited by americanbot; 06-22-2012, 03:44 PM.Comment

Chavez Jr. is one I think we're all certain of. Hell he's already been caught with a masking agent, refuses testing, fights in Texas, ect.Comment

Tarver did have a ******* addiction before boxing turned his life around so him being positive for something like weed or coke could be possible. hope it's not PED's for his sake
yea that UCLA lab gets the job done. this was just a regular state commission test but it's the same facility as the OST agencies. People blaming VADA and USADA as companies looking to make a profit off positive tests or whatever are also indicting other medical professionals who have no personal affiliation whatsoever with those two agencies. They are just chemists, lab technicians, interns, etc who aren't going to get paid extra for bring positives to light.Comment

I really don't understand why weed and coke and recreational drugs like that are even banned. It's not like they're gonna give the fighter any advantage, it's going to hurt them more than benefit them. I guess just to maintain a "clean" sport.Comment

But for pro martial arts there was/is no testing in Japan. All the Pride & K-1 legends were on it (but honestly most UFC fighters are on it too since the commission testing is a joke in America). I don't think the pro boxing commission in Japan has the $ to do testing like the organized amateur associations (im just guessing).
Either way, in the end Olympic and cycling athletes are the most tested in the world and they still cheat all the time. There is no way to clean any sport where money is involved.Comment
