Sosa, McGwire, and Bonds were all well-over 200lbs. The seemingly short, skinny players[compared to other players] are the one's who are actually 185-190lbs. For example Brett Gardner from the Yankees is billed at 5' 11" 190lbs and he doesn't look that big on TV compared to the other players. Omar Vizquel, Roberto Alomar, Dustin Pedroia to name a few. Those guys are/were 180-190lbs.
Sammy Sosa was actually 190 as a 20 year old, when he was skinny in the Expos. Bonds was 190lbs when he was a relatively skinny player. When those two were roiding, they were billed at 230lbs. McGwire was as big as 250lbs in his prime roiding years. The thing with McGwire is that he started pretty big as a power hitter and 40-50 home run guy without Roids.
