What are you talking about. when he dominates the early parts of fights how and why does he adjust?
gameplan and adjustments are two completely different things. Martinez should win and is the better fighter. I just don't think sergio can keep the fight in the center of the ring and if it gets on the ropes, chavez is too big and strong. Add to that the toughness that chavez has shown and it's a problem for sergio
Chavez is definitely a prob for sergio. Especially in a baby ring like his fight last. Buuut sergio does not fade, he actually had been coming on in fights.
Are you really saying sergio doesnt make adjustments midfight? Have you watched his fights recently? Like the macklin fight?
And i know game planning and adjustments are different. That's why one is called game planning or coming up with a fight plan, and the other is called making adjustments. He's done both well.
Last dudes that tried to put pressure on sergio are pwilly and kermit. Counter punchers seem to give him some trouble, but chavez's size and body work are gonna be a bit ch for sergio. I agree that this is a tough fight though, so we have similar thoughts, but i think sergio is too smart for jr.
A year ago I would have said Martinez destroys him easily but since then Sergio has gone into the late rounds a couple times and Chavez has stepped up and shown a good chin.
As sergio admits its a much closer fight now but there is a still a fairly big gulf in class. Lee was ahead in the fight on Saturday so I can see Sergio being able to keep the fight long using superior footwork to dominate at range. Towards the end Chavez may have made a dent with body shots but at the same time Maryinez may have finally worn him down like Barker and Macklin by landing crisp left hands all night.
The safe bet is Martinez wins this on points but given the dodgy decisions recently I wouldnt be too surprised if they gave it to Chavez and it causes uproar.
Chavez will increase the number of wins he has by 1.
What I mean by that is he may very well beat Sergio and look good doing it. Which is what I do think will happen. I really believe Chavez/Martinez will play to the same tune of the Lee fight. I don't see anyone at 160 being able to hurt Chavez. I don't think Sergio, who doesn't have the best defense in the world, will be able to take 12 rounds of punches from Julio.
The only way he loses is by a 10 count KO.
So basically he is coming out of this fight with the W one way or the other.
