Very true, but the way chavez tucks his head and tries to get to your chest negates some of that. He only gets wild in close. Don't think martinez will have the space to counter.

The man has changed my mind. He has that azteca in him.

My prediction also has a lot to do with the fact I don't believe martinez can deal will constant pressure. Hopefully neither camp will ***** out and we get the fight. It certainly looks better than it did 12 months ago

IMO Sergio would out box him...to much angles and in & out movement and add the fact that Sergio has good stamina he should out box the face first brawler. Unless Sergio gets old over night he should ud him.

I think it is a hard fight to call. I voted Chavez by decision. Martinez might KO him but he has a great chin. I am sure Martinez wins the early rounds with speed and skill. Chavez is like a freight train picking up speed as the fight goes on. He gets better each fight and Martinez seems to be slowing down. I think Chavez comes on in the late rounds enough to win a close decision or late round KO.

          Chavez won't fight Martinez.

If he did, he would lose. He's too slow and simple. Martinez is too black, too slick.

            3. Chavez will land those shots on anyone in the divsion because of 4

            4. Physically chavez is way too big for sergio. Chavez has a legit chin. Martinez will slow down naturally during the fight and as soon as he see's chavez walk through his shots he'll mentally fatigue.

The thing that changed my mind on jr is his toughness. At some point in each fight he breaks his opponents will. It's a scary feeling when you land on your opponent and he just keeps coming. That to me is very impressive.
            1. It has everything to do with Andy Lee or any other figher Jr has faced before

            2. Did you see Martinez vs Macklin? Everyone is saying that he looked like crap, but guess what, he won via TKO and had tremendous mobility during that fight. It doesn't matter if Jr is a hard puncher if he can't close down Martinez.

            3. Is the fight on fair terms? Or again no testing, no glove weighting and a very small ring? There are a lot of factors involved.

            4. Martinez actually starts slow and ends on a high not, not the other way around as you are saying. Martinez is a lot more dangerous on the last rounds of the fight.

Martinez stops him, going to be extremely hard chasing Martinez down trying to Land Body Shots, he is going to be eating a lot of Jabs and Straight Lefts trying to Corner Martinez and go to the body

              I think Martinez stops him!

But this fight is not going to happen, you people are wasting your time getting your hopes up, something will come up and cancel this match

This reminds me of Pavlik vs Paul Williams negotiations, they agreed to fight twice and Pavlik had to pull out from the fight TWICE! Chavez Jr is riding high after the Lee fight according to some so I don't see Arum ruining that by throwing him in with Martinez and letting him get DESTROYED!

                1. No it doesn't. I don't make predict a fight based on one fight.

                2. Chavez is no macklin. Chavez is a huge middleweight

                3. I agree 100%. If it goes down like last night I got chavez

                4. Martinez always slows down mid fight and catches a second wind. He most certainly wears down in fights. Think chavez and his pressure turn the fight about the same time martinez takes his mid fight break

Going to be a great fight. Not a big fan of Chavez Jr, but a little more respect after his performance. It will be interesting if Sergio more to counter, or be the aggressive fighter all night!
Going with Sergio, but Juniors age may help.
