There's no way JT should have been able to bash WW around, but the size factor was too significant IMO.

And at the time Taylor was getting widely slated for taking on the likes of Ouma and Spinks. Even Pavlik should have been a formality... I love the guy, but the only moving target he can hit is the bottle.
Well the two best guys Taylor fought in his prime was really good versions of Hopkins and Winky, and he went 36 close rounds with them. Don't you think you have to be a very good fighter to fight 3 fights that could have gone either way with Hopkins and Winky?

The 10 fight run that Taylor went through from 05-09 would have been given a lot of hype if it was any one else. Possibly a Brit fighter, but it's cool.

On point of that (seeing as you've brought it up multiple times without me mentioning it) there was an article in a magazine the other day saying that Froch's run has been the best run of any British fighter in consistency.

I thought Hopkins against Taylor was the worst I've ever seen him.. and I concede a lot of that may have been down to Taylor himself. But I had some serious stake on Hopkins winning the rematch, only to see him give it away.

But even though they're skilled, they can't crack at the weight. I'm not suggesting that power is everything - far from it - but if there's no danger, then it's not quite the same. Who came the closest to beating Calzaghe? Answer: A shot to **** Roy Jones. Hopkins/Reid may have had questionable points losses against him, but Roy had him out for a second on the canvas.

I forget what my point was now. It's late over here.

            I love JT.

I actually thought he lost the Wright fight, but won the Hopkins fight; but other than that, he was hands down one of my favs.

              Yea definitely a tough run.
I can't wrap my head around him though. I haven't been impressed with much he did post Hopkins. Very shortlived "prime".

Good guy, really hope he can bounce back both personally and as an athlete. And if he can't i hope he gtfo and save himself all the pain.

Pac had a pretty great run from 05-09. A few meh opponents sprinkled in so it doesn't look as great as Froch or JT's.

B-hop too. 2x JT, winky, Tarver, Pavlik, Calzaghe.

Reed, "is fighting blown up welters then getting KTFO by an alchy an ATG run at middleweight?" is almost as good as that thread you made the other week "John Ruiz, Clinton Woods, the guy who delivers the mail... why they belong in the HOF."

At least make your comebacks real. Anyone can make **** up to make it look like their reply is witty.

Yeah Jermain was one of my favorites, in the years leading up to the Bhop fights he was a destroyer in the ring, very personable, engaging, and respectful out of the ring. He did go through a spell there getting knocked out, but he was fighting unbeaten monster punchers.
