Nice guy, tough kid with a decent resume, just not HOF worthy.

That should be taken in to consideration. That's what makes him borderline to me plus his wins. 3-4 more good wins, I would have said yes.

Although I think if Cotto gets in, Williams should get in.

I feel really bad for Williams and his family, but cmon...

Yeah... Like I implied. This thread is license for people to rag on a guy who's at the lowest point in his life. I'm sure that wasn't the intention of the TA, and I don't think it's the intention of the posters giving their honest answers. The answer is pretty clear. Williams didn't really get the opportunity to prove if he's HOF material. That's why this is ****ed up. Poor choice timing wise.

Wins over Martinez, Winky, Lara[controversially], Margarito, Quintana, Cintron.

Okay wins against Ishida, Mitchell, Walter Matthysse.

If i'm not mistaken he's a 2 time champion at WW, interim champion at 154 if you want to count that, and at one point was calling every one out from 147-160 and was willing to fight them at their weight class.

As a big fan, I would say he's borderline HOF. I think Williams at age 30 was not done, and I think he would have ended up adding Canelo and 3-4 other names on his resume and have a sure HOF resume. Being a borderline HOF'er at age 30, you were pretty damn good then.

corrales & williams are not hall of famers. not even borderline.

I don't think so but he really had the talent to do much, much more. I don't want to sound like an ass or anything but I think Paul Williams was a little bit of a wasted talent, I mean if he had better fundamental technique I don't think he would've lost a fight in his pro career.

He's in my HOF. He's a hero of mine in the ring, and he'll be a hero to even more out of the ring. My dream is for him to get inducted in the HOF and stand up to receive the honor.

Greg Haugen is in the World Boxing HOF. Let's not act like its some sacred territory for pound for pound kings.

You got a champion whose held titles in 2 divisions and with only one "loss"to Lara that remains unavenged. He has a case but this unfortunate event may not let him finish his quest.
