Thats because Greg Haugen beat a prime Vinny Paz, a prime Hector Camacho and Ray Mancini. He also fought Sweet Pea, went 12 rounds with him, and although he got KO'd he fought Julio Cesar ChavezGreg Haugen is in the World Boxing HOF. Let's not act like its some sacred territory for pound for pound kings.
You got a champion whose held titles in 2 divisions and with only one "loss"to Lara that remains unavenged. He has a case but this unfortunate event may not let him finish his quest.Comment

All of Molina's losses before fighting Lara, are debatable. His draw and loss to Chavez Jr were controversial. The Alvarado loss was controversial. And his loss after the Lara fight against Kirkland, really that was a terrible performance and his corner failed him. They became too desperate to help him sit down after Kirkland had visibly hurt him and instead got Molina a DQ. Molina is a good fighter, but he really turned me off with the Kirkland performance. In the Cintron fight, I thought, damn this guy is good. Then he completely turns me off right in his next fight.Lara has some skills but if Pwill was a HOF caliber fighter, no way Lara should have beat him as bad as he did. It wasnt even close, and this is the same Lara who only a year ago Drew with Carlos Molina, and you could argue Molina won that fight. Molina has 4 losses. I know Paul is your boy, I just dont see him as a HOFer. We are all entitled to our own opinions and if you really think he deserves it, then I'll respect that.Comment

Hard not to give a knee jerk reaction of yes because of the news.
Realistically he has a good resume, very solid, but I think he comes up short of the HOF... But thats ok... He was a champion, he made it, he did it, he'll always have that.Comment

Which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Cotto IS a HoF fighter and Williams is not it is that simple, period end of discussion.
Also the HoF isn't a popularity contest, you can be a B or C fighter and still get in, such as Gatti. He deserved a spot not because he beat or was a great fighter, but what he did for the sport. He put his heart and soul into every fight, gave his all and was entertaining as hell to watch, win or lose that is his legacy and what he is known for. Williams biggest call to fame was getting KTFO and nothing more, seriously this thread and topic is just a complete joke.
Stallone got in the celebrity ring and some people think it is ******, I personally don't. It did A LOT for the sport of boxing especially the first movie, it easily made new fans and just was great. If you do something great for the sport does it make you popular 99% of the time yes, but you don't get in just because you are well known. Williams in the HoF is flat out pathetic to even bring up, this is what boxing has come to unfortunately.Comment

Exactly.
Borderline is just that, no he won't be in the HOF, but I thought of it. That's what borderline is. At least that's how I see it.
For example, if Kell Brook would have a career ending injury right now[god forbid], he would be an absolute no. No questions asked. He's done nothing at all.
Williams has put in enough work to be talked about next to HOF'ers, but not exactly make it.Comment
