Is Oscar De La Hoya underrated?

I mean, the man fought virtutally everybody through out his damn career. Look at the list of hall of famers and great fighters he faced. Yeah he lost some fights, but who the hell would go through that list of fighters without a few losses? I feel he doesn't get enough credit today. Agree or disagree?

Hell yeah he's underrated. The guy was a beast! Let's be honest he got screwed against Trinidad, screwed in the second Mosley fight aswell as the first one (Mosley was on roids). He constantly challenged himself and was a breath of fresh air for boxing.

Prime Oscar cleans out everyone around 147 at the moment and that includes PAC and may

I absolutely agree. He is extremely underrated, and his greatness cannot be stressed enough. He is one of the most fundamentally sound fighters I have ever seen, and he ducked no one.

      A legend.

people on this forum are more concerned about his choice of clothing while coked out of his mind.... it's kinda sad really.

oh and i agree with the above, oscar sparks out both mayweather and pacquiao in his prime

Spot on, if he had gotten the Trinidad and Mosley wins like he should have, his resume might look a lot better on paper today. I think a lot of the boxing fans we have today on boxingscene only remember Oscar losing to Pacquiao and Mayweather, it's a damn shame.

Prime Oscar is definitely underrated nowdays. However, there is no way in hell he beats Floyd in his prime

He also got wins against Pea & Ike that alot of people didnt think he deserved, not to mention Sturm that everyone thinks he lost. It cuts both ways

Yet he loses by a controversial split decision as an old and over the hill fighter? Nice try.

Totally agree about the Sturm bout, but Oscar was out of his weight class and element in that fight and I don't think he took it serious. I think the Sweet Pea fight could have gone either way, but I think he beat Quartey in a close one.
