From the little I've seen of Mathebula, I think Donaire's going to have a tough time looking good against him which will reinforce the opinion of those that think he's overhyped. I don't care how good you are, there are styles and strategies that won't let you look impressive, when used by a fighter at the world level.

Top Rank is continuing to waste Donaire's time with their bull*****.
That sounds too sensible Red K sent

YES! And it is not his fault and that does not mean Donaire is not a good fighter

I think it is just a GENIUS MARKETING my Bob Arum and him trying to take advantage of the Filipino Market since he has their attention right now with Manny Pacquiao...however I am still not sure about Donaire I feel like the KO of Montiel while Impressive, it made fans really overrate him even more...but he left the 122 Division without fighting really any of the TOP FIGHTERS in that Division, Montiel was just a Title Holder in that Division, he wasn't rated higher then Agbeko or Mares or even Yohanny Perez at that time I don't think and DONAIRE did not face any of those fighters

now at 126 I have to see him against Rigondeaux and Mares (who has now moved up) but I have a feeling he probably won't fighter either of them but I hope I am wrong

He has talent though, he's just not done enough to warrant the level of praise.
he has done alot to deserve the praise and p4p ranking...he is the current WBO super bantam weight champ, the former WBC +WBO bantam weight champ, WBA Super fly weight champ and IBF flyweight champ and he has took some titles in epic style with an outstanding KO + Upset of the year win over the then undefeated and feared Vic Darchinyan to get the IBF (+IBO) titles and scored another amazing one punch 2nd round ko over Fernando Montiel ripping the WBC+ WBO Titles from montiel in another KO And upset of the year candidate, this along with being an exciting fighter makes him more that warrent the hype with his last 12 fights being for titles no less than interim and his next fight is yet again a world title unification bout for the WBO + IBF World titles against Jeffery Mathebula....this is an impressive CV!!!!! Future gr8 no doubt dont get the negativity against this fighter that is constantly impressive and exciting along with improving fight by fight!

first, nonito moved from 118 to 122...and montiel was the number 1 bw when nonito fought him and also #8 in the p4p list....montiel was the man to beat, held 2 of the abc belts..

second, mares also moved frm 118 to 122..rigo is at 122..

very good counter puncher, has ko power in both hands , fast etc...defense is just ok but that comes with being a very offensive minded fighter imo. i dont like all the senseless showboating inside the ring tho..alos not a fan of his excuses everyfight esp when he does'nt look good...

                way over hyped

                esp considering he's #3-#5 on p4p lists

not sure why these soft hearted kids are getting upset about his slight showboating, it makes him more likeable

I think Arum is steering him the wrong way. He has fought some good fighters. But I agree with a lot. He is ranked to high on the P4P list

                    what hype does he have?
his star has cooled, he's just ranked highly p4p
and that p4p shit means nothing anyway, so he's not overhyped
he'll destroy Mijares, which doesn't count for much
but beat Nishioka after that and Nonito is in boss mode
